Every cloud has a silver lining, they say. I'm a personal believer in optimism. . . if you can't find the silver lining, you're just looking at the cloud from the wrong direction!

Like Old Times
We went to dinner at Cuban Pete's last night with Tony and Evelyn. The food was delicious, Angie enjoyed dancing to the music and peeing on the new pottys, and the company was very enjoyable. We were celebrating Tony's new job as a photo touch-up specialist with a former professor of his who's apparently a big name in the art world, a job he's been hoping for since he finished his degree a year and a half ago. And after dinner, we all walked around downtown, enjoying the live band playing on a street corner, the unique shops along a cobbled street and the beautiful evening breeze. As we walked, Angie held hands with Tony and Eve, leaving Miguel and I to wander ahead, holding hands and talking, hugging and exchanging loving glances the way we did when we first met. It was a blissful moment that led me to two realizations: firstly, Angie is so comfortable with Evelyn and Tony that they can babysit for us once in a while if we want to go out and secondly, we really need a few hours together on our own, without the distraction of an always bouncing child. Who knows what the future might hold.
