Just Like Mommy

She looped the handle of her bucket-o-frogs over her wrist like a purse, strode purposefully over to where I was sitting on the floor and gave me a kiss. Then, with great confidence, she walked to the front door. "Bye," she said and waved as she closed herself between the two doors. Poking her head out, she threw me a kiss and said, "See ya!" It took only a moment for me to realize what she was doing and for the laughter and tears to overwhelm me.

Angie was going to work.

(I should note that I am the one Angie most frequently sees going to work. Papi is gone from the house long before Angie awakens, so all she knows about his situation is that he comes home. I, however, leave while Angie is awake and so she knows the process quite well. )
