Said 12-year-old Josie: "See, I like
this house because there's always something to
do here. At my house there's nothing to do and so I just watch TV or play on the computer or well, that's it. But here, there's crafts and games and stuff and the TV is never on. "

High praise, indeed! Our kids get movie night on Fridays and that's pretty much it... The rest of the time we are playing and reading and crafting and well.. Living! :)
Yes. We get a half hour to wake up with in the morning; perhaps another half hour around 2 or 3 in the afternoon so that Mama can get a break. And depending on the night, another half hour before bed. Sometimes we're so busy that we don't watch anything and occasionally we sit down altogether in the middle of the day for a movie. But it really depends on our collective moods!
The TV-free life is wonderful. Except, socially, other people spend a lot of time talking about what they've seen on TV and I don't have anything to contribute. But I generally consider that to be more their problem than mine. :-)
