Happy New Year

Well, a Happy New Year to you and yours.  If you're like me, you spend a lot of time cataloging the things that you'd like to do differently, but you don't ever solidify any plans.  I'd like to be more organized.  I'd like to get fit again.  I'd like to return to the thoughtful person I used to be before I became overwhelmed with the daily tasks of living.  I'd like to fix my multitude of character flaws.  I'd like to have time to meditate.  None of these things will happen, though, because I've no plan of attack and no willpower to stick to my resolutions.

In the next week or so, I plan to sit down and outline how I'm going to attack each of these goals in small bites.  Because that's how we can accomplish things, bit by bit.  Thoughtful and conscious living, is the root of it, I think.  If I can manage to think about what I am doing, I'm more likely to do it the way I want to and not just the way I'm used to.

It's just too bad that not thinking is so easy!
