Miguel had a minor car accident almost three weeks ago now. As he was driving to work at 6:15 a.m. the car he was behind moved to the left lane, slowed and appeared to be committed to making a left turn before suddenly turning right to enter the parking lot of a church, sans signal. Miguel, who continued traveling in the right lane at a constant rate, ended up in the path of the other car as it made its very wide right turn.
No injuries, and the damage to the car was remedied with a front end alignment and a balancing of the front driver's tire, for a total cost of $90. However, an estimate to fix the cosmetic damage to the body (which was all minor) topped out at $1400. As the police and both insurance companies deemed that the other driver was entirely in the wrong, Miguel should shortly be receiving a check in the amount of $1400 from the insurance company. We have no plans to get the cosmetic damage fixed, as it's hardly noticable and the vehicle is 8 years old.
So, guess what? I'm getting $400 to go shopping for new clothes! I've already spent $100 of it on the kids, since they both need clothes for the spring and summer. I haven't bought clothes for myself in years, save a shirt or two and a few items that Mommy graciously purchased for me for my birthday last year. I hardly know where to begin. And though my winter wardrobe is decent, though by no means excellent, my spring/summer wardrobe has suffered. This is partly because the shorts they've been selling the last few years barely cover one's behind, and I'm not entirely comfortable with that. But I just haven't had the funds for a change of wardrobe, and so I've been wearing the same shorts (which are falling apart in some cases) for five years or so.
I am so looking forward to spending some money on myself for a change. Now I just need to make a list. I'm certain I can find all I need with money to spare...

Wonderful!
I don't know how you feel about second hand, but you csn usually find more 'classic' styles at the thrift shops. And of course, you can't beat the prices! I recently bought a brand new dress in need of a button and a pair of cute leggings, both for Penny, for eighty cents. They were having a sale. :-)
