Every cloud has a silver lining, they say. I'm a personal believer in optimism. . . if you can't find the silver lining, you're just looking at the cloud from the wrong direction!

Blast from the Past
Do you remember G&G Floral Supply? Miguel and I were driving around the Saddle Brook area, trying to find our way home from Harbor Freight when I spied the big, brick building. "Hey!" I exclaimed excitedly. "That's G&G!" Miguel looked at me like I was a bit more than strange, but let me explain anyway. I can remember going into that store like it was a vast trove of treasures, looking at all of the exotic dried flowers and wishing I could think of something to do with them. Mommy, of course, was there to buy supplies for her many craft projects. Though I can't remember every actually buying any flowers, I do remember buying other little picks, like flocked teddy bears and easter chicks. It's funny when you come across something like that. You'd have no reason to remember it, except that you ran into it!

I don't remember it, even after you telling of it! :-)
I do remember it, but not as vividly. To me it's more of a fabled place that was often spoken of with longing, but rarely visited. In my mind, it is associated with being a bit too expensive and too far away to be a regular trip.
Fabled, huh? This must have been one heck of a craft store!
Oh, not a craft store, but a flower store. And yes, Sandie, it was infrequently visited and a bit pricy. And now that I know where it is, too far away. I think it was the sheer variety of flowers that made it so...cool.
