I had a doctor's appointment yesterday with one of the docs at my Ob-Gyn co-op. There are four of them, and he's the one I like least, but they ask that you meet with all of them because you never know who will be on call when your baby finally arrives. So, I arrived for my 11:45 appointment ten minutes early, as requested, signed in and settled Angie down with some magazines to look at. After nearly 40 minutes, I looked at my watch, surprised at how much time had passed. Angie was beginning to protest and wanted to go home. "We'll see the doctor soon, sweetie, I promise." I shouldn't have promised though. A short while later, another patient inquired about the time. Nearly an hour had passed since I'd arrived.
"Well," I piped up, "I'm the 11:45 appointment. How long have you all been waiting?"
The lady who had inquired about the time was the 12:00, the one who'd answered her was the 11:30 and the 11:15 was sitting off to the side. That's when one of the secretaries could be heard saying, "He's seeing his 11:00 patient now..."
What? He's an hour and a half behind? There was a hum of activity as we all tried to decide how much our time was worth. The 12:00 patient and I decided to reschedule.
Now, I've an appointment tomorrow with my favorite of the doctors, who is also much more punctual. I think I'll try to avoid the other one for as long as possible...after all, I have met him before and really don't need to repeat the introduction.

They always say that, that you should see all the doctors because of the uncertainty of the delivery. I figure, I don't really care who catches the baby, but I want to know and trust my doctor during the prenatal care when any issues may arise. So I insist on only one doctor. Anyone can catch the baby.
Jennie is absolutely correct. Be comfortable with your doctor.
