I bought a set of watercolors at CVS today for Angie. It took a little practice, but by the end of half an hour, she had figured out not to dip her brush in the water immediately after putting paint on it. We're still working on keeping the brush clean in between colors, but she had a great time squiggling around on the paper and even learned to make some bold straight-ish lines. It was a fun half-hour and easy to clean up!

I have a pleasant little watercolor painting that Jonny made when he was two framed and hanging on my bedroom wall. And that's what I gave the kids for Christmas: paints, nice brushes, paper, and PERMISSION TO USE THEM AT WILL. I tend to think of the clean up before getting involved in a project. :-D
I have been thinking about water colors for my babies. I think they would have a blast! And they are much neater than any other kind of paint I know of.
