Our house came with a gardening plot (in which the former owners had tomato plants at the time of our purchase, but which they removed and transplanted prior to our moving in), and every year I have promised myself that I would plant veggies. So far, I have been distracted by morning sickness and the need to keep an eye on my curious child while outdoors, and I haven't yet planted a garden.
But this year, I am determined to start a vegetable garden. Green peppers, tomatos and green beans are on my list of veggies to plant. Perhaps some carrots as well, but that should be a sufficient start to the gardening endeavors. I may plant some canteloupe as well, as fruit is well liked around here. I thought about zucchini, as I use it in salad alot, but a few websites posted the admonishment, "Just because you can grow zucchini doesn't mean that you should!"
I'm excited and can't wait for warm weather so I can prepare my soil.

On the zucchini - if you use it - plant it but only 2 plants as you may remember when you plant more - you get lots of zucchini. We have done that and then you get really tired of the stuff. But you must have a least 2 plants for pollination.
