Housewives

A while ago, perhaps a long while ago, Jennie wrote this post, directing us to a play about a husband and wife. I took the advice to heart, although not immediately, and have been making a bigger effort to do more than what is absolutely necessary to get through a day. Instead of sitting and writing a post (oops. . .) I'll do a little extra straightening around the house or make sure dinner is started a bit earlier. I have also been making an effort to look nicer for my beloved. I'm not dressing up, mind you, but I'm not wearing the oldest shorts I have either. I put on perfume and pluck my eyebrows. I wear earrings now and then, although never the dangly ones. And it is making a difference, in my outlook and in how Miguel responds when he comes home. Little changes can go a long way.

I'm surprised at you! And I sheepishly admit that this week I've begun wearing skirts on regular days. It's kind of nice to feel pretty all day.

I'm surprised at me too. But I once heard that it is a responsibility to look good for your partner. . .why should your colleagues get to see you all dolled up and not your husband (or wife)? It's hard for me to keep up with the beauty regimen, but I'm trying to work it into a routine so that it's just normal. Especially the eyebrow plucking!

Skorts go a long way to making you feel relaxed, yet dressed up at the same time. I have a couple of pairs that I purchased on sale at JC Penney.

Have fun being pretty!

I hate the eyebrow plucking...makes me cry, but I only do that little spot over my nose. :-) As for the skirts and dresses, they aren't actually uncomfortable to wear all day. I chose the ones that are a little roomier for easier movement, and I'm still able to haul a cranky baby off to bed, play ball with the kids, chase Jonny around the house, and crawl around (with my big, jiggly butt!) trying to eat Rosie's toes. No makeup, though. Maybe sometimes a little lip gloss. Anyway, Davey's noticed, and I do enjoy that admiring look in his eye!

I only hate wearing the dress shoes, so I need to buy a pair of dressy sandals. . . then I don't have to wear hose either. As far as the eyebrows, mine are quite bushy and plucking them down to a managable size makes me feel more feminine. And it only hurts for the first few seconds. I do hate plucking my lip hairs, though. That hurts even more.

Wow . . . I, too, have started wearing a little makeup each day and dressing a little nicer. I usually wear jeans or capri pants, but lately I've been making sure that I don't wear the oldest shirt in the closet! lol It makes me feel good and my husband has noticed too.
