A New Friend

I met another stay-at-home mother on my block this week as I was taking a walk with Angie. I rounded the corner and there she was with her 6.5 month old Vincent in a stroller, standing in her driveway chatting with her visiting mom. I stopped to introduce myself, and we hit it off pretty well. We agreed to go walking together in the park when the weather gets nice. I'm looking forward to getting to know a neighborhood mom.

Coincidentally, there are several new babies on the block. It seems that my neighborhood is in flux. In the last two years, about half of the houses on the block have been sold, either to people like Miguel and I who are looking to start a family, or to people with young children (elementary school aged). So our neighborhood consists of some retired couples, some estabilished families, and a bunch of newcomers just figuring it all out. Angie is the only girl baby on the block, as there are three other babies (all boys) under a year that I know about. There's another that's about 2 to 3 and two more young boys between 3 and 5. What a nice place to live.
