A Red Letter Day

Where does that phrase come from, anyway? Scarlet letters are bad, but red letters are good? Anyway, Angie had her two naps, as usual, but both of them were one and a half hours! That's a first for her! Yay Angie! It makes for a happier baby all around.

Maybe red letter day has it's origins in Chinese new year traditions.

A red envelope with money in it is given to the children at this time and red is the good luck color.

I checked around and this phrase originates from the custom of marking holy days on the church calendar in red letters.
