Manager of the Home``

I was scooping poop from the guinea pig's cage while Angie and Maddie were off in the kitchen fetching food for the little piggie.  Maddie came back with the red bowl full of pellets and I instructed her to set it on the sidetable until I'd finished cleaning the cage.  Angie came in, empty-handed and tried to help Maddie put the pellet bowl into the cage.

"Angie,"  I snapped, because this was not the first time this morning she'd not completed a task I'd set for her.  "I don't want that in here yet.  Put it down and go get Sophia's lettuce and carrots."  As she headed for the kitchen, I called after her, "And bring back the hay, too!"  A moment later, I followed her to the kitchen to throw away the bag of droppings I'd collected.

"Bossy, bossy, bossy," Angie was muttering as she tore romaine lettuce into the bowl.  She turned around and jumped about a foot into the air when she saw me standing there.

"So I'm bossy, am I?" I asked, brow raised.  Sheepishly but honestly, she nodded, not certain of what I'd say.

"I guess I was being bossy," I admitted, "but hey, I'm the mommy!"  After a hug and a kiss I sent her back to the guinea pig's cage laughing behind her as I followed.

Cute! Great that she was honest, and you didn't get mad at her.
