Yep, we had our very first poopin' party today in celebration of Maddie's very first poop on the potty, complete with chocolate chips and high fives all around. We started the potty training a few weeks ago -- I'd take Maddie to the potty as soon as she woke up in the morning because she was so predictable. Then we started trying at different times during the day. Though she likes the sound of her pee going into the potty, she still doesn't understand that she's supposed to tell me before she has to pee so that we can use the potty. We've eschewed the training potty this time around too, in favor of the cushy tushy seat for little bottoms on the regular potty. Less clutter in the bathroom and less grossness for me to deal with.
We hope to be out of diapers before the month is up, but we'll see about that. Even cheap diapers are expensive and it's hurting our purse. Right now we're using a combination of diapers and pull-ups (which I'm calling undies to make her understand the difference and try to keep them dry). Hopefully we can try a day with undies in the near future to get the hang of telling me when she has to go.
But still, yay Maddie for poopin' on the potty!

Yeah Maddiebear. Banki is so very proud of you.
Woo Hoo! I know that as soon as people hear you are potty training you get a bunch of unsolicited advise and I know you've done this before, so I'm trying to bite my tongue. But . . . lol
With Sarah we sort of stopped wearing diapers cold turkey. I put her in real undies and she peed right through them a couple of times. She was a bit shocked at the river down her leg. I just smiled, let her to the bathroom and reminded her that we pee on the potty now. It took three days and that was that, for her. Even night time! Of course, we did it that way because we ran out of diapers and I refused to go buy another bag of them . . . Your situation might be different. lol Love you!
