Cheaper than a Gym Membership

We took a trip to HomeGoods. A nice family outing, we thought, to a store with lots of interesting treasures. Though I have become quite frugal these last months, I didn't mind browsing around. And then Miguel found this:

"It's only $40," he said. "Can we get it?" He was like a kid who'd found a toy he just couldn't live without.

"Love!", I exclaimed. "Forty dollars for that? What are we going to do with it?"

"Come on. It'll look cool on the mantle."

"We can't afford forty dollars for something to sit on the mantle. And what about all of the family pictures? Where will they go?"

"Ok," he said, hangdog. "You're right."

We looked around a bit more. I was hoping to find a nice decorative pillow for the upstairs rocking chair, but I struck out. We thought maybe we'd find some nice outdoor planters for around the pergola, but again, nothing.

When Miguel noticed I'd come up empty, he grinned. "Now can we get it? Come on," he implored, "it'll motivate me to work out. And it's cheaper than a gym membership," he added.

Well, we have 30 days to bring it back if it doesn't work....

Um...wow. That's just...well, ugly. To each his own, I guess. :-)
