We went to breakfast at IHOP with Grandma and Grandpa about a month ago. While Grandpa and I waited for our server to return -- she was a particularly distracted young woman -- with our check, Grandma and Angie took a walk to the store next door, a sweet shop. When Grandpa and I finally made it out of the restaurant, we stopped in to see what Grandma and Angie were up to. Having a particularly, ummm, generous grandma, Angie was being treated to a very colorful lollipop and a bag of chocolate coins. Over the next few days, Angie discovered just exactly what was underneath all that shiny gold foil.
A few months ago, I ordered a book for Angie. It took Amazon a long time to actually procure and ship the book, so it arrived only a couple of weeks ago. As we looked at the new book, Angie spotted the silver seals on the front cover -- a Caldecott Honor Book seal and a Theodore Seuss Geisel Honor Book seal. Her first thoughts on seeing the fabulous new book?
"Look, Mommy! Chocolate coins!"

Ha!
How is that book? I was shopping for Rosie's birthday books the other day, and picking up a few extras, too, because I'm like that. :-) I saw that one, but didn't get it. Do you like it?
