Baby Update

We had an ultrasound today -- a standard 2nd trimester one. Angie and Papi were there. As soon as the image of the baby came up on the screen -- it was a pretty good image of the head -- Angie squealed "Baby" in delight. We got to see arms and legs and hands and all kinds of cool features. We made sure to tell them that we didn't want to know the sex, however, so we're still ignorant there. The only "issue" according to the doctor is that the baby has some extra fluid in its kidneys. It's probably nothing, and will clear on its own, but the worst case is that there is a blockage in the urinary tract somewhere. This, he says, is entirely treatable with medication. A blockage left undetected, however, could become something serious and require surgery. So, to combat that scenario, we have another ultrasound scheduled for week 35. All in all, things are going well.

Good! Sometimes, when they see something wrong, they just leave the parents hanging, fearing the worst. I'm glad all is well!

I'm so glad everything is going well and I hope any problems do clear up on their own.

I love you!
