Miguel stayed home from work on Monday and we went Christmas shopping with Angie and his Mom. Normally, I don't have a problem with this. But this time, we got a late start because Angie had a very restless night that kept us all awake for more hours than we wanted. We had to drive half an hour to pick up Mom on roads that had not been well plowed over the weekend. We had to dodge fying sheets of ice and snow as they dislodged from the roofs of speeding vehicles. And then, once in the store, I had to contend with Miguel's constant queries, "Are you almost done?" He quickly followed it up with, "I'm not rushing you or anything." Yeah, right. It sure felt like I was being rushed. I knew it was because Mom was getting tired of waiting for me, but I needed to peruse the available items. On top of that, I didn't have Miguel's input on the presents I bought for Angie because he was entertaining her elsewhere. It was not my finest shopping experience.
Today, I spent the day with Angie finishing up some shopping errands. And tomorrow we have just a few more stops and we're done, except for the two packages that have yet to arrive.
I just love the Christmas season.

We are the Christmas makers. It's a lot more fun to be the Christmas enjoyers, though, isn't it?
