Every cloud has a silver lining, they say. I'm a personal believer in optimism. . . if you can't find the silver lining, you're just looking at the cloud from the wrong direction!

Growing Up
I bought a booster seat for Angie to sit in at the dinner table, two plastic plates without suction cups, and a plastic Dora theExplorer cup without a lid. Now, she sits at the kitchen table for breakfast and lunch with me, eating half a grilled chesse or PB&J sandwich without me cutting it into neat little squares first, and has dinner in the dining room with Mami (oops, Mommy) and Papi on the glass table top. She's getting so big, I hardly realized it until I saw her sitting in her new chair, munching on her sandwich like every other toddler. It almost makes me cry.

I thought those plastic plates and cups were so cute when Brenna and Delaney were little. Now, I find them incredibly annoying! Do you know, Rosie's been eating off of our regular china and drinking out of a small glass since she started? Sure, she's broken a thing or two, but it's a small price to pay to "let" her enjoy nice and delicate things, too!
I guess you learn with each one what is possible just a bit more quickly. I've been so used to cutting up Angie's sandwiches for her, that I didn't think to stop and let her bite into them herself. It's been a joy to watch and less prep time for me!
Yes, indeed, you do! We get kind of brainwashed by those marketing folks that we NEED all these to raise our kids properly. I don't have a high chair, either. Take up too much space. I found a nice wooden booster seat that straps into a chair. It did come with a tray, but I just threw that up in the attic!
