Persistence

Angie's been congested and coughing at night for almost two months now. We've tried a cool mist humidifier, saline nasal spray (which she detests), a pillow under her mattress to raise her head, cold medicine, doctor prescribed Zyrtec syrup, doctor prescriped Singulair tablets and just plain nothing in an effort to get it to stop. It hasn't. It doesn't really bother me, except that she coughs so much that it wakes her up and sometimes it takes her 15 or more minutes to get back to sleep. It makes her cranky when she wakes up in the morning too.

I don't know what's causing it, and neither do the doctors (there're two at the office we visit). Perhaps it's related to the mouthful of teeth that are ready to burst through her gums; a frenzy of tooth growing activity is going on around here, and I know a bunch of other stuff can happen to teething babies.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas? Have your babies ever had such a thing when teething?

Congestion and coughing doesn't seem very much like a teething thing to me. Rosie is my hardest hit teether as far as odd symptoms go, with diarhea and runny nose being the biggies, along with drooly-chin-rash. Some babies also get fevers. Unrelieved congestion and coughing, though, doesn't sound quite right.
