What's in That Box?

I have boxes upstairs in the storage space that haven't been looked at since we moved here nearly two years ago. I'm sure there's something in them that I thought was worth saving, but I don't know what it could be. I know I'll find knick-knacks and decorative pieces that went well in the old place, but they just wouldn't fit in now. I want to go up there and clean it all out, but seldom have the time (or the empty arms) to do it.

Since everyone in my family has moved at least once (lol. . .if you know the people in my family, you'll realize the overwhelming understatement that is) I'm sure you've had the same problem. What did you do with the stuff you didn't need anymore? How long did it take you to get rid of it? Is there anything you've kept from move to move to move that you just can't part with?

I go through everything before I move, sending tons of stuff to the thrift store, and again as I unpack it all at the other end, wondering why I bothered to move whatever-it-is. Open a box, see if anything is irreplacable, then give the whole thing away. One box at a time is fine. I have very few sentimental items: some jewelry, photographs, and my childhood scrapbooks. And pooh, who lives under my bed. Every think else is living on borrowed time!

If you haven't looked for the item in the last 2 years, you probably don't need it. My suggestion would be to open the box, make sure nothing invaluable is in it, and donate all the contents. Trust me...if you haven't missed it yet, you do not need it. Also, I can't tell you how many items I have replaced because I couldn't find it after the move. Good luck!
