Daily Limit

Most cold medicines contain something called pseudoephedra which can apparently be used to make crystal meth. I went into CVS tonight to get some more PediaCare for Angie, as she is really congested and is going through a lot of the stuff. I picked up two boxes, thinking ahead, and when I got to the counter, the second box wouldn't scan. The cashier turns the monitor around and says, "You've reached your daily limit." Huh? I've only bought one today...this one. How can that be a daily limit? And what if I needed two different kinds, one for her and one for me? Would they stop me from doing that?

I understand needing to stop the people who buy out the store supply to make drugs, but please, a mom with an obviously miserable child in her arms. . .well, we're going into business with two boxes of PediaCare.

Get a grip.

I had thought they stopped using that. There was an email circling, oh, four years ago that some drug ingredient (I thought that one) was terrible to ingest, but even by then they'd stopped using it. I must have the wrong name in mind.

And yes, it is silly.
