Orange Sauced Porkchops

6 pork chops
butter, olive oil, or vegetable oil
2 cups water
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
2 tsp paprika

1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup sugar
12 cloves
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp corn starch

Brown the pork chops in a skillet with butter, olive oil or vegetable oil (your choice).
Heat water, salt, paprika and pepper to a boil and simmer pork chops for 45 min, until tender.
Meanwhile, combine orange juice, sugar, cloves, cinnamon and corn starch. Heat to boiling, stirring until thickened. Serve pork chops with sauce over them.

Serve with rice and a veggie. (I usually make Orange Rice to go with this; it's flavor is much milder than the sauce here created.)

This sounds good. I've tried orange/pork recipes before with little success, but because the chops cooked IN the orange juice, which results in a wierd flavor. This sounds more promising, with the juice seperate.

I like this recipe because I can let the chops simmer away for quite a while before I actually have to do anything with them. I'm a hands-off cook as much as possible.
