A Memory

I had a memory of Aunt Donna yesterday.

Miguel was showing a bike he'd rescued from Daddy's yard to his brother-in-law, and I started thinking about how we used to bike ride, Miguel and I, in the spring and summer. Then, I though about adding Angie into that equation, and of course, we'd need one of those kid seats that attaches to the bike behind the driver's seat.

And that's when I had a memory of riding with Aunt Donna on a bike, sitting in the little kid seat behind her, as we went to get donuts for breakfast. It's a pretty clear memory, but I can't think of when that would have occurred or why. Or if it ever happened at all, and I'm just making it up.

I consulted Mommy and she can't think of a time when I'd have gone out with Aunt Donna that way, although she says Aunt Donna did used to ride alot when we were very young and she was trying to lose weight. And the only time we slept over was when Mommy went to her class reunion, which, she says, was right after Sandie was born.

Does anyone else remember this outing? Were my sisters there, on bikes beside us, and I just don't remember that part? Were our cousins with us? Were we even buying donuts?

Nope, no memory of this, but Aunt Donna lived in Uncle Jim's house when we were very young, as I recall.
