Just when I think Angie and I are making headway with our sleeping issues, we take a few steps backwards. We've been doing really well with taking 1.5 hour naps in the mornings, although less well with the late afternoon naps. We had a pretty good schedule going so that she was never awake and tired for more than half an hour. But sometime in the last week, maybe because I've gone back to work two night's a week and I don't put her to bed every night, she's shifted her morning wakeup time to 7:00 instead of 8:00 which moves her naptimes up by 1 hour and really messes with the evening schedule. It hasn't been everyday that she's done it, but two days so far, not consecutive.
On a different note, her nightime sleeping is going a little better. She's only waking every 3 hours now (about) and she doesn't want to nurse each time. She just wants me to hold her and rock her to sleep again sometimes. And when she does want to nurse, I try to keep it short and put her back to sleep by rocking her, if she hasn't already fallen asleep while eating. I think we're improving, but it's still hard to tell. She's been coming into bed with me at 6:30 in the morning to sleep until 8:00 for a few weeks, and I'm trying to stop that and get her to sleep in her own bed longer.
I think what I need to do now is become more consistent about how I deal with night wakings, regardless of how sleepy I am when she wakes and how much I just want her to go back to sleep. We're getting there. It's slow, but it is progress, I think. :)
