A Walk in the Park

The weather was gorgeous today, sun peeking through the clouds, balmy temperatures and a small breeze. It's almost February, but it felt like April and Angie and I relished the opportunity to take a walk in the park. It's a big park with a large lake and a walking path around it's perimeter. On the other side of the parking lot, there is a playground and children's garden. We strolled briskly around the lake, passing other mothers with babies in strollers, sharing knowing smiles as we passed. Dogs and children caught Angie's attention, making her squeal with delight and eliciting laughter in response from the old and young alike. At the playground, Angie longed to play with the other children, but alas, she cannot run or walk and the ground was unfit for crawling this day. So back to the car we strolled, with the breeze in our hair and happiness in our hearts. Spring in the middle of winter. What a breath of fresh air!
