The Binky Affair

It seems that the reason Angie wakes herself up while she's napping is that she pulls her binky out of her mouth because she likes to hold onto something while she sleeps. So it's usually the loop on her binky and when she moves her hand, out comes the binky and up comes Angie! (If it just falls out while she's sleeping, she doesn't care.) So, I thought "What can I give her to hold onto?" Usually, I stand there while she holds my finger and falls back to sleep, but sometimes when I take my finger away, she wakes up again. I was so frustrated today that I was near tears. . . I know she needs more sleep, but I can't seem to get her to sleep solidly during the day! So, I tried putting a blanket near her hands to grab, but she won't grab it. I tried giving her a soft rattle (courtesy of Mommy) but she won't grab that either (and it makes noise when she does move it, so she wants to play with it.) Finally, I hit on the solution. Since she likes to hold her binky, why not give her. . .another binky to hold! It seems to be working (she's doing it right now) and I feel better knowing she's getting more sleep!
